GRAMPIAN REGION'S WARM UP FOR WINTER PACKAGE

That this House congratulates Grampian Regional Council for the success of their Warm Up for Winter initiative this year; notes the particular success of the benefits advice line, which is estimated to bring more than ú200,000 to pensioners in Grampian in unpaid benefit after only three months in operation; notes that the Labour Party and Tories united in an attempt to sideline this particular aspect of the package; and urges all parties in the forthcoming unitary authority elections in Grampian to endorse the SNP's scheme and support their efforts to extend the package throughout Scotland.
