Disability Discrimination Bill And The Right Honourable Member For Sedgefield And;the Honourable Member For Hamilton
EDM number 930 in 1994-95, proposed by Alex Salmond on 29/03/1995.
That this House notes newspaper reports of 29th March that two members of Labour's front bench team, the honourable Member for Cynon Valley and the honourable Member for Newcastle-upon-Tyne Central, are to be disciplined for missing an important division on the Disability Discrimination Bill; further notes that the Right honourable Member for Sedgefield and the honourable Member for Hamilton also missed these vital votes despite the Labour Party's request to minority parties for a full strength turn-out; regards the disciplining of the honourable Members in these circumstances as an act of double standards; and suggests that the leader of the Labour Party now discipline himself to put the interest of disabled people before pursuing internal Party business in Glasgow.
