National Continence Day

That this House welcomes the Department of Health initiative in promoting National Continence Day on 21st March 1995, and, in particular, the focus on continence needs of people from ethnic minorities and adults and children with bedwetting; is concerned that, despite NHS Executive Guidance (EL(93)54), some areas have yet to fully implement the Agenda for Action on Continence Services (1991) and that services remain very variable across the United Kingdom; and urges the Government to introduce targets for the treatment of this often curable condition into the Health of the Nation targets at the earliest possible opportunity.
