That this House welcomes the publication by the TUC of the results of its recent widespread consultation with trades unions, individual workplace safety representatives, safety professionals and employers on Health and Safety at Work as part of its high priority campaign aimed at improving standards of safety through social partnership with employers; and applauds all who participated in this important study, in particular those from the companies involved, notably United Biscuits, British Airways, Conoco, GKN and BP Oil UK and others, who worked positively with the TUC to head off the danger of sweeping deregulation of health and safety standards and in favour of a sensible strategy of renewing and revising existing legislation.
