Israeli Occupation Of South Lebanon

That this House notes with sadness that 14th March 1995 marks the seventeenth anniversary of the first Israeli invasion of South Lebanon; reminds the Israeli Government that the continued occupation of South Lebanon is an illegal act from which the United Nations, in Security Council Resolution 425, has demanded unconditional withdrawal; affirms its belief that a sovereign state must have sovereign jurisdiction over its own territory and that continued occupation will only breed its own resistance movement; and calls upon the United Kingdom Government to press for international action to secure the belated implementation of UN Resolution 425.
