National Minimum Wage
EDM number 787 in 1994-95, proposed by Jimmy Dunnachie on 13/03/1995.
That this House deplores the fact that some 40 per cent. of the British workforce must, through economic necessity, work more than 40 hours per week; and calls for Her Majesty's Government to introduce a national minimum wage which would remove this necessity, lessen the hours so many have to work and so enable more work to be made available to the unemployed.
This motion has been signed by a total of 37 MPs.
