Therapeutic Uses Of Cannabis

That this House congratulates the Canberra Assembly of Australia for legalising the possession and cultivation of cannabis for medicinal use; applauds the 35 states of the United States that have allowed its use for therapeutic purposes; notes that cannabis was prescribed in the United Kingdom until 1971 without harmful results; and urges the Government to respond swiftly and positively to the evidence of Alliance for Cannabis Therapeutics and the drug relieves the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, AIDS and some cancers.
