Funding For The World Transplant Games
EDM number 741 in 1994-95, proposed by Liz Lynne on 07/03/1995.
That this House is concerned at the funding difficulties being experienced by the World Transplant Games which are to be held in Manchester in August of this year; notes that this difficulty is caused because the Games are not eligible for a Sports Council grant and cannot expect money from the National Lottery because money from the National Lotteries Charities Board will not be available until the end of 1995; and calls on the Government to provide the support necessary to ensure that the World Transplant Games go ahead without any cut backs to the event or increase in costs to the competitors who already have to pay ú400 each exclusive of travel costs.
