Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Gravesham
EDM number 708 in 1994-95, proposed by Peter Kilfoyle on 28/02/1995.
That this House deplores the argument propagated by the honourable Member for Gravesham in the House on 7th February on the subject of education and provision in Kent when he ignored the provision of 1 per cent. set aside by the country council for the teachers' pay award, misrepresented a Government cut of ú5.5 million in funding for Kent as a 2.1 per cent. increase, distorted the nature of the Great Danes Conference attended by nearly 600 primary headteachers, disregarded the cuts made by Kent County Council due to the departure of further education colleges from their responsibility, misunderstood proposals for decisions and misrepresented an economy of ú1.8 million in central management costs as a saving of only ú800,000.
This motion has been signed by a total of 41 MPs.
