Education In Kent

That this House congratulates the parents and governors of all 554 schools in Kent who, having considered a grant maintained ballot for the school year 1994-95, declined to ballot; recognises the immense success of the Kent Partnership initiative, in which over 90 percent. of Kent schools participate; and deplores the negative approach of the proponents of grant maintained status in Kent, whose sustained attacks on educational provision in Kent do a grave disservice to the interests of pupils,teachers, parents and governors.
