MR SALMAN RUSHDIE AND THE EUROPEAN UNION'S CRITICAL DIALOGUE WITH IRAN

That this House calls on Her Majesty's Government to insist on guarantees of safety for all British citizens, including Mr Salman Rushdie, and, in the absence of such guarantees, to withdraw from the European Union's "critical dialogue" with Iran; and further calls on Her Majesty's Government to renegotiate a stronger and more effective mechanism for relations with Iran, and to strengthen their demands for the withdrawal of the fatwa against Mr Rushdie which has now existed for six years.
