Dumbartonshire Enterprise

EDM number 573 in 1994-95, proposed by Norman Hogg on 08/02/1995.

That this House notes that Scottish Enterprise is presently consulting widely on the future boundaries of local enterprise companies following upon the introduction of the new unitary local authorities; welcomes the decision of Scottish Enterprise to undertake this consultation and trusts that they will have the fullest regard to the views of honourable Members whose constituencies would be affected by any change to existing boundaries; further notes the excellent record of Dumbartonshire Enterprise; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Scotland to maintain the existing boundaries of that local enterprise company for at least the next three years so as to allow an assessment to be made of its effectiveness in the context of the new local authority structure.
