Community Care In Gloucestershire (No. 2)

That this House supports the principle of community care; notes the crisis in funding community care in Gloucestershire and elsewhere; deplores the cut of ú80 million in community care special transitional grant which was imposed on shire counties by the Government following a change, without consultation, in the funding formula; notes that this formula change penalised Gloucestershire to the tune of ú3 million; congratulates the people of Gloucestershire on the massive petition delivered to Downing Street on 3rd February 1995 protesting at the cut in grant; and calls on the Government to reconsider the funding of community care as a matter of urgency.
