Fair Treatment For Miners Suffering Chronic Bronchitis And Emphysema

That this House calls on Her Majesty's Government to widen the Coal Industry Pneumoconiosis Compensation Scheme, introduced by Government in 1974, and to make payments under the scheme to miners and former miners awarded a disablement assessment for chronic bronchitis and emphysema, thereby ending the illogical discrimination between the suffers of the two diseases which is caused by inhalation of the same coal dust. (Relevant registered interest declared).
