VAT On Recreational Transport

That this House regrets the decision to impose standard rate VAT on recreational transport; is concerned that this additional tax will seriously damage the tourist industry and result in further job losses; notes with dismay that government support for the industry has been cut by 37 per cent. over the last three years; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to reconsider the decision to impose VAT and give the British tourist industry the support it deserves.
