That this House expresses grave concern at the Budget deficiencies facing Tyne and Wear Fire and Civil Defence Authority; and calls upon the Home Secretary to investigate the concerns of the Authority and the Chief Fire Officer that cuts in services pose a serious threat to the ability of the Brigade to maintain a high level of protection to the general public.
