Accountability In The Nhs
EDM number 409 in 1994-95, proposed by Martin Redmond on 18/01/1995.
That this House deplores the practice of NHS trusts, like all quangos, of holding all meetings in private, failing to publish minutes, routinely refusing to supply even the most basic information to honourable Members and using this lack of accountability to operate practices which at the best are questionable, at the worst corrupt; notes that because of this Government's obsession with absolute secrecy on NHS matters honourable Members are left no alternative but to submit Parliamentary Questions in the hope of extracting the most rudimentary information which in all but totalitarian states would have been readily and publicly available.
This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
