Conduct Of The Minister Of State At The Department Of Health

That this House rejects the attack by the Minister of State at the Department of Health on the Right honourable Member for Derby South for asking Parliamentary Questions and his allegations that the cost of answering was three pacemaker operations; asks him to quantify the loss of healthcare represented by the annual payments to Tory acolytes appointed as chairmen and non-executive directors of NHS trusts, which amounts to approaching ú40 million, the losses incurred by the Wessex, West Midland and Trent Regional Health Authorities on defective and corrupt computer systems, management consultancy and privatisation of Regional Health Authority services, and the uncontrolled severance payments to NHS chief officers; and further calls on the Minister of State to explain why he did not object to the Secretary of State's gift of ú10,000 from public funds to the chairman of West Midlands Regional Health Authority on his resignation.
