Integrity Of The World Bank Inspection Panel

That this House notes that the World Bank's plan for the Arun III project in Nepal has been referred to the World Bank Inspection Panel; further notes that the preliminary Panel report recommends an investigation into what appear to be serious violations of World bank policy; considers that the Board's response to this report will constitute a test case of the integrity of the new Inspection Panel procedure; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the United Kingdom Executive Director supports the immediate implementation of the preliminary recommendations of the Panel.
