Norway And Sweden And The European Union

That this House offers its congratulations to the government and people of Norway on the news that its inflation has reached a new low of 1.4 per cent., that its domestic output has grown by 5.3 per cent., and that its planned budget deficit has been halved; and offers its sympathy to the people of Sweden who so recently decided to join the European Union and whose currency has collapsed and its government which has been forced to slash welfare spending and to increase taxation very substantially allied to a sharp increase in interest payments.
