Withdrawal Of Paramedic Ambulance In North Derbyshire

EDM number 307 in 1994-95, proposed by Harry Barnes on 16/12/1994.

That this House is deeply concerned about the decision of the North Derbyshire Area Health Authority to discontinue funding for a paramedic ambulance that has been operating so successfully in the recent past; believes that the decision to withdraw funding is extremely short-sighted and that the loss of the use of the vehicle could end in tragedy; notes the comments of the chief executive of the area health authority that consideration is being made to re-introduce the scheme in the 1995-96 financial year and that the service has been withdrawn purely for financial reasons; and calls for provision to be made forthwith for the re-establishment of the service through the combined efforts of the Department of Health, the Trent Regional Health Authority and the North Derbyshire Area Health Authority.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
