Deprivation Payments For Scottish Gps

EDM number 303 in 1994-95, proposed by Andrew Welsh on 15/12/1994.

That this House is concerned about changes in the calculation of deprivation payments for Scottish patients; notes that these changes mean Scottish patients have to be more deprived than equivalent patients in England before payments are triggered; further notes that this situation adversely affects the incomes of general practitioners in Scotland; seeks an immediate redress of this unfair situation; and, in recognising the valuable contribution that the Chapter 10.5 scheme makes to rural general practitioners in Scotland, calls on the Government to preserve the fund in its current form.
