Delco Electronics, Kirkby

EDM number 283 in 1994-95, proposed by George Howarth on 14/12/1994.

That this House congratulates the workers, the AEEU, Knowsley Borough Council and the people of Kirkby on the magnificent campaign which has succeeded in persuading Delco Electronics to stay in Kirkby, thereby securing a large proportion of the 1,000 jobs at the factory; and notes that Delco has also indicated a long-term commitment to Kirkby by opting to develop a new purpose-built factory unit in the town, which they will own rather than lease.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
