That this House warmly congratulates the George Inn, Borough High Street, Southwark on winning the 1995 Evening Standard Pub of the Year Award; thanks Whitbread the brewers, for all they have done since 1742 in London for the health and welfare of its residents and visitors; expresses gratitude to all the staff of the George; and delights in the fact that this historic galleried inn has brought even greater fame and honour to one of the most historic boroughs of England.
