Extension Of Tax Loopholes In The Budget

EDM number 263 in 1994-95, proposed by Richard Burden on 13/12/1994.

That this House notes with concern the recent discovery in the small print of the budget that the Chancellor has extended tax relief for those wealthy enough to own and rent out property abroad; contrasts this with the punitive measures he has taken against average home owners in the changes to income support for mortgage interest payments; and finally concludes that these measures will increase inequality in Britain with average home owners facing rising costs whilst the extremely well off have new tax loopholes opened for them.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
