RCN'S RIGHT TO NURSE CAMPAIGN

That this House believes that all nurses should have the right to resources to give the best quality care, time to respond to the needs of those in care, a stable working environment which offers greater security of employment, the right to speak out when concerns over patient care and safety are ignored, education and training to keep their skills up to date, freedom to make nursing decisions within the health team and to work alongside appropriately qualified nurses and other staff, consultation over issues affecting their work, management support in delivering nursing care, access, in confidence, to occupational health and staff support and recognition of their skills through fair pay and conditions; supports the Royal College of Nursing's Right to Nurse Campaign which seeks the commitment of NHS managers to these rights; and calls on all NHS managers to sign the RCN's Right to Nurse Contract.
