Kingsbrook Properties

EDM number 1580 in 1994-95, proposed by David Winnick on 02/11/1995.

That this House deplores the continued refusal of Kingsbrook Properties, based in Birmingham, to comply with a judgement made in the Birmingham County Court on 19th July 1995 in favour of a constituent of the honourable Member for Walsall North; notes that the judgement was for the property company to pay the sum of ú470.72 plus ú65.00 costs for a deposit of one and half months rent which should have been repaid to the tenant; notes that Kingsbrook Properties have refused to respond at all to communications from the plaintiff and so far also refused to reply to letters from the honourable Member; and on one occasion telephoned the House to say the company was in liquidation but the Library found no information that is the current position; considers that the directors of Kingsbrook Properties are totally unfit to continue in business of any kind; calls on the directors without further delay to comply with the court order immediately; and calls on the Lord Chancellor to ensure that this is done forthwith.
