Coal Markets
EDM number 158 in 1994-95, proposed by Martin Redmond on 30/11/1994.
That this House demands a public enquiry into the industrial genocide wreaked upon the mining industry and the mining communities of this country by a Government whose Ministers stated publicly there was no market for coal, which was a callous lie, when they were well aware that some 18 million tonnes was being imported, often from countries whose workers were little better than slaves and in some cases where children worked underground.
This motion has been signed by a total of 45 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
