Today In Parliament
EDM number 1562 in 1994-95, proposed by Michael Alison on 01/11/1995.
That this House congratulates the BBC on the 50th anniversary of the programme Today in Parliament; recalls that the injunctions of the BBC Director General, Sir William Haley, in 1945 that the programme should avoid expressions such a 'pointedly' and 'tartly' and that the report must be unembellished still apply in 1995; and urges the Corporation that a distillation of Today in Parliament, namely, The Week in Parliament, should be included henceforth in the schedules of BBC World Service Radio.
This motion has been signed by a total of 81 MPs.
