Sale Of Fireworks (No. 2)

EDM number 1543 in 1994-95, proposed by Tony Banks on 30/10/1995.

That this House calls for an urgent re-examination of regulations in respect of the sale of fireworks; believes fireworks should only be sold in the seven days prior to 5th November; that only display fireworks be available, that purchase be limited to persons over the age of 18 years, that all fireworks manufactured abroad be subject to safety inspection by local authorities before being put on sale to the public, and that licences be removed from those retail outlets in contravention of regulations; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to take action forthwith.
