Emu And Problems In France

EDM number 1540 in 1994-95, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 30/10/1995.

That this House offers its sympathy and goodwill to the people of France who are suffering from economic policies which will create additional unemployment in consequence of the policy of maintaining artificial exchange rates in the same way as Britain suffered during its period in the ERM; condemns the Government of France for its foolish policy when already unemployment in France is 12 per cent.; and calls upon the Government of the United Kingdom to give a message of common sense and hope to the unemployed of France by making it clear that it will, under no circumstances, return to a policy based on artificial exchange rates.

This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
