Nuclear Tests
EDM number 1493 in 1994-95, proposed by Eddie McGrady on 23/10/1995.
That this House is opposed to the nuclear testing in the Pacific and in particular to the test at Mururoa on 5th September 1995 which provoked widespread opposition; recognises that this test is widely seen as being against the spirit of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; notes that two nuclear powers have continued or resumed their nuclear powers except for the People's Republic of China; and wishes to see a successful conclusion to the negotiations for a treaty outlawing nuclear tests altogether in 1996.
This motion has been signed by a total of 34 MPs.
