Conduct Of Dr Glyn Jones (No. 2)
EDM number 1424 in 1994-95, proposed by Rhodri Morgan on 17/07/1995.
That this House calls on Dr Gwyn Jones to resign his offices as Chairman of the BBC Broadcasting Council for Wales and the seat on the BBC Board of Governors that goes with it, following the publication of the Twenty-ninth Report of the Committee of Public Accounts of Session 1994-95 (HC 376) on the 1993-94 Accounts of the Welsh Development Agency on 13th July and, particularly, the devastating criticisms of the assembly and sale ofland by the Agency to Tesco for a supermarket at Gadlys Road, Aberdare, circumstances first revealed by the BBC Wales current affairs programme, Week In Week Out, in 1994, and criticised by Dr Jones in the following monthly meeting of the Broadcasting Council for Wales, without any declaration of interest in a wholly unacceptable abuse of power.
This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
