French Attack On Greenpeace Ship And Nuclear Test Plans
EDM number 1375 in 1994-95, proposed by Matthew Taylor on 10/07/1995.
That this House condemns the use of military force by the French Government to seize the Greenpeace ship, 'Rainbow Warrior', and her crew, who were peacefully protesting against the renewal of French nuclear weapons testing in the Pacific; deplores the decision of the French Government to use force, including tear gas; calls upon the British Government to condemn these actions and to press the French to abandon their plans for further nuclear weapons tests; and further calls on the British Government to encourage all other Governments to take a similar position whilst seeking negotiation of a full test ban treaty.
This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
