Natwest Bank Branch On The Tustin Estate London Se15

That this House expresses its concern about the proposed closure by the NatWest Bank of its branch at 805 Old Kent Road, in the constituency of Peckham; notes that the local community was not consulted about this important decision; notes that without the presence of the bank the small parade of shops will lose customers and close leaving the Tustin Estate of 2,000 residents without any local shops; notes that with the closure of the local post office many pensioners on the Tustin Estate depend on the bank to get their pension and without the bank would have to travel to Peckham High Street and travel back to their homes carrying cash, which would make them fearful of robbery; notes that Southwark Council and the local police are prepared to help with extra security to protect the bank from robberies; and calls on NatWest to consult the community and reconsider this ill-judged decision.
