French Nuclear Tests And Conservative Delegates To Assembly Of Western European;union;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 1279A1 in 1994-95, proposed by Tim Rathbone on 29/06/1995.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'recognises the continued importance of nuclear deterrents to the maintainance of peace in Europe, which has been so successful over the last 50 years, and the complex nature of keeping any nuclear deterrant up-to-date; understands the need for nuclear testing, but hopes that France will reconsider that decision and recommit itself to the existing non-Proliferation Treaty and to the Test Ban Treaty to be signed in 1996; but feels that politically opportunistic debate on French nuclear testing in national parliaments or in international assemblies is not helpful to the aims of those treaties or to the maintainance of security in Europe or the world.'.

This is a ammendment to 1279.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
