National Food Safety Week And The Closure Of Fsl Torry

That this House notes that the 12th to 18th June 1995 is National Food Safety Week and supports efforts to improve food hygiene; further notes the importance of the Food Science Laboratory at Torry in this battle and their work to combat bacterial and viral infections in food; and calls on the Secretary of State for Agriculture to reverse the decision to close the Torry laboratories in the interest of the food industry, food safety and the consumer.
