Future Of Belvidere Hospital Glasgow

EDM number 1169 in 1994-95, proposed by David Marshall on 23/05/1995.

That this House acknowledges that the East End of Glasgow has some of the worst health statistics in the United Kingdom and therefore expresses dismay and surprise at the Greater Glasgow Health Board's proposal to close Belvidere Hospital, Parkhead, in the Glasgow, Shettleston constituency; notes that no suitable alternative provision or facility is available locally; and considers that rather than sell it off to speculative developers for a quick profit there is an excellent opportunity to develop it along with the regeneration of the area, as a public health care centre, thus continuing its long standing tradition of providing care, treatment and employment to East Enders.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
