Audit Report On Rhondda Borough Council

EDM number 1049 in 1994-95, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 28/04/1995.

That this House views with concern the serious allegations of malpractice made against Rhondda Borough Council regarding housing renovation grant management; depolores the length of time that the District Audit Service has taken to present a report on this matter; and declares its dissatisfaction with the fact that the Auditor's report can be made subject to revision and delay because under present procedure they have to negotiate with senior officers and leading councillors against some of whom these very allegations may have been made, and in circumstances where the rules of political balance do not apply.
