National News Services To The Northern Region

EDM number 1023 in 1994-95, proposed by David Clelland on 24/04/1995.

That this House believes that the national news media badly let down the people of the Northern Region of England, and of Tyneside in particular, during the recent two week industrial dispute which brought postal services in the Newcastle area to a standstill; recognises that considerable costs and inconvenience were incurred by local people and businesses as a result of correspondents from outside the region being unaware that postal services were unavailable; considers that the people of the North are as entitled to proper services from national newspapers and network news as any other area of Britain; and looks forward to an improvement in service in future.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
