Collapse Of Home Improvement Companies

That this House notes that since the beginning of February 1994 four home improvement companies, Guardian Windows, Profile, Britannia (three double glazing companies) and Western Driveways, have collapsed leaving customers out of pocket; notes that each company promoted similar schemes offering customers refunds on deposits for introducing new customers; believes that the regulation of such promotions is patently too lax; and calls for immediate Government action to control such operations.
