Health Promotion Authority For Wales

That this House deplores the actions of the Health Promotion Authority for Wales at its Board meeting on 17th March in removing Board member David Griffiths, Director of Education of Gwent County Council, from its Audit Committee, and in requesting Mr Griffiths's resignation from the Board; believes that the Secretary of State for Wales should now urgently respond to Mr Griffiths's letter to him of 29th January, requesting his support for tighter management controls and stronger audit procedures with particular regard to curbing excess foreign travel at public expense; and calls on the Secretary of State to reaffirm his confidence in Mr Griffiths's appointment on the Board and to commend his resolute behaviour in controlling abuses of public money not only to the other members of the Board of the Health Promotion Authority for Wales but of all the other quangos in Wales as well.
