Plain English Campaign Exhibition
EDM number 918 in 1993-94, proposed by Eddie Loyden on 22/03/1994.
That this House welcomes the opportunity to visit the exhibition organised by the Plain English Campaign in the House of Commons; congratulates Chrissie Maher and the Plain English Campaign in its tireless efforts to end the practice of using gobbledegook, especially in the field of local and central government documents and business and commerce; and calls on the Government to give a lead by simplifying parliamentary language in its publications and in drafting Bills in order that the public can readily understand the information to which they are entitled as a right.
This motion has been signed by a total of 41 MPs.
