Hoover Free Flights And Bucket Shops
EDM number 913 in 1993-94, proposed by John Evans on 22/03/1994.
That this House is appalled at the revelation in the Evening Standard (17th March) that the Hoover Corporation's travel firm, Your Leisure, is selling Britain/United States of America return flight tickets to bucket shops for as little as ú139, whilst at the same time denying thousands of customers, who were hoodwinked into purchasing Hoover goods through a bogus free flight promotion and are being cynically denied the free flight they thought they were entitled to; and calls upon Hoover's American parent company, Maytag, to rescue their company's reputation and integrity by extending their free flight offer beyond the end of April and honouring their commitment to all those Hoover customers who still want to holiday in the United States of America.
