Turkish Mps
EDM number 895 in 1993-94, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 17/03/1994.
That this House expresses its grave concern at the decision of the Turkish Government to revoke the parliamentary immunities of a number of its MPs who represent predominantly Kurdish areas; further notes that these MPs are not accused of any crimes involving violence but are accused of simply suggesting that Turkey has ethnic minorities or that the Kurdish language should be recognised; and urges the Turkish Government to rescind this step and engage in a proper dialogue with the elected representatives of the Kurdish people.
This motion has been signed by a total of 46 MPs.
