Disabled Workers Rights And Scottish Councils
EDM number 832 in 1993-94, proposed by Alex Salmond on 11/03/1994.
That this House welcomes the Second Reading of the Civil Rights (Disabled Persons) Bill as a means to outlaw discrimination against disabled people; recognises that a Disablement Commission is essential to monitor the rights of disabled workers; notes that in Scotland only Angus and Gordon district councils have employed the three per cent. quota for employing registered disabled workers; and calls on other councils to immediately take steps and fulfil their quota.
This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
