CAPITAL EXPENDITURE FOR MANCHESTER'S SCHOOLS

EDM number 8 in 1993-94, proposed by Alfred Morris on 18/11/1993.

That this House draws the attention of Ministers to the crucial importance to children and staff in Manchester's schools of the City's bid for capital expenditure, with particular reference to the very urgent need for major repairs to many schools and for the replacement of those whose premises are in irreparably poor condition; and calls for a response from the Government that will be more helpful than that of previous years, since when the generally poor condition of so many of the City's school premises has become a cause for serious public concern.
