That this House deplores the proposal by British Rail to withdraw Thameslink services to Sevenoaks via Peckham Rye from its new timetable in May; considers it a further blow to the already impoverished public transport system in South-east London; sees it as a measure to make Thameslink look more attractive to private operators in the run-up to British Rail privatisation; expects a further deterioration in services in South-east London after the break-up of the British Rail network; and calls on British Rail to abandon this proposal and ensure that Thameslink Sevenoaks services are a part of the new timetable.
