School Nurses - St Helens And Knowsley

That this House notes with grave concern the proposals from the St. Helens and Knowsley Community Health Trust to cut some Ãº80,000 from the budget for school nurses, which will result in jobs losses of between seven and 16 out of a total currently of 34 staff; expresses its utter disgust at the consequences for children's health in an area with already abnormally high levels of poor health; and calls upon the Secretary of State to instruct Mrs Charnock, the Chairwoman of the St. Helens and Knowsley Community Health Trust, to re-instate the funds for this service to continue with the full current staffing levels.
