Funding Of Guardian Royal Exchange Sales Force

That this House expresses grave concern at the allegation that the Guardian Royal Exchange invested more than Ãº36 million from its Ãº7 billion life fund in GRE Financial Management, its own subsidiary sales company, to support a sales force which it admits is unprofitable; believes that investors are entitled to know for what purpose funds invested on their behalf are to be applied; calls on the SIB to investigate this practice and to make public its findings and recommendations; believes that practices like this will continue for as long as regulation is dominated by trade interests; calls for an end to self regulation of financial services industries; and finally notes that the Chairman of GRE is the senior Conservative Party Treasurer.
